Varun Arjun Medical College, operating under Varun Arjun University, Banthra, Shahjahanpur, organized a high-level guest lecture on “Diagnosis and Management of Spinal Tuberculosis (TB)” on December 12, 2025, at its Central Auditorium. The session was led by Dr. Shekhar Bhojraj, Senior Director (Orthopaedics) at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai, along with eminent spine specialists Dr. Premik Nagad and Dr. Ankur Gupta.
The lecture was specially designed for physicians, postgraduate students, and healthcare professionals working in rural and urban areas, focusing on the early diagnosis and effective management of spinal TB. Senior spine specialist Dr. Varun Agrawal from Bareilly graced the event, adding significance to the academic exchange.Dr. Bhojraj, in his address, emphasized that spinal TB is not just a physical ailment but a reflection of limited health awareness and inadequate primary healthcare in rural India. He highlighted the importance of early detection, patient education, and lifestyle modification alongside medical or surgical treatment. Sharing real-life case studies, he explained how timely interventions can prevent severe disabilities and improve patients’ quality of life.
