Varun Arjun Medical College & Rohilkhand Hospital Organizes Free Cancer Screening and Consultation Camp

A free Cancer Screening and Consultation Camp was organized on Sunday, 20 September 2026, at the Rural Health Training Centre, located opposite Police Station Nakhase, Miranpur Katra, Shahjahanpur, operated by Varun Arjun University and Varun Arjun Medical College & Rohilkhand Hospital, Banthra, Shahjahanpur. Patients were provided free medical examinations, including blood pressure and blood sugar testing. Free consultation and medicines were also provided, along with discount coupons for various investigations and CT scans.

Radiation Oncologist Dr. Rakhi Verma informed patients about common warning signs of cancer, including the presence of a lump or swelling, sudden weight loss, persistent fatigue and weakness, continuous cough or changes in voice, loss of appetite, and changes in a mole or wound on the skin. She advised people to consult a doctor immediately if such symptoms persist for more than two weeks and to undergo regular health check-ups.

Dr. Verma also explained the cancer care facilities available at Varun Arjun Medical College & Rohilkhand Hospital, including 3D CRT, IGRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS and SRT technologies, FNAC, pain management, nutritional support, psychological counselling, immunotherapy and targeted therapy, chemotherapy and surgical treatment. Operation and ICU facilities are also available at affordable rates.

PRO Vipin Sharma encouraged people to remain aware and not ignore cancer symptoms. He also explained the Family Health Card, available for ₹200 and valid for one year, offering free OPD registration and 20% discount on medicines and investigations.

Dr. Rakhi Verma, along with her medical team, paramedical staff and the Medical College PRO, was present during the camp.
