ree

Varun Arjun Medical College and Rohilkhand Hospital, Banthra-Shahjahanpur, organized a significant humanitarian initiative under the Uttar Pradesh Government’s ambitious Mission Shakti Phase 5.0 program. From November 3 to November 7, 2025, MBBS students visited families they had adopted from villages such as Pingri Pingra and Banthra to conduct health checkups, vaccinations, and provide other necessary medical services. The initiative, carried out with the Department of Community Medicine, aimed to strengthen primary healthcare and help students understand community health challenges. Families requiring specialized treatment were referred to Rural Health Training Centre, Katra, and Urban Health Training Centre, Akarra Rasoolpur, where they received free consultation and treatment from specialist doctors.

Program coordinators including Dr. Shivani Gupta, Dr. Anil Kumar Pal, Dr. (Col.) Ravindra Nath Shukla, and Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Gupta praised the campaign for combining medical education with community welfare. They emphasized that Mission Shakti is not just about women’s empowerment but holistic societal upliftment. The initiative helped students develop social responsibility, compassion, and real-world experience in preventive healthcare. Faculty from the Department of Community Medicine guided the students throughout, ensuring accurate medical checkups and record maintenance. This campaign stood as a model for bridging the gap between hospitals and communities, empowering medical students to become socially conscious doctors while providing quality healthcare to underprivileged families.
