Varun Arjun Medical College Organizes Multiple Awareness Activities on World Malaria Day 2026

Varun Arjun Medical College marked World Malaria Day 2026 with a series of awareness initiatives organized by the Department of Community Medicine. The activities included a seminar and role play by Batch 2023 students at the college campus, along with malaria awareness talks and poster presentations by interns at RHTC Katra and UHTC Centre Shahjahanpur.
The programs aimed to promote awareness regarding malaria prevention, early diagnosis, timely treatment, and active community participation. During the seminar, students discussed the causes, symptoms, preventive measures, and national malaria control initiatives.
The role play effectively addressed misconceptions about mosquito-borne diseases and highlighted the importance of hygiene and personal protection.
In addition, interns conducted awareness talks in rural and urban health training centres, educating communities on malaria symptoms, mosquito control, prevention of water stagnation, sanitation practices, and the use of mosquito nets. Their poster presentations served as impactful visual tools for public education.
The activities were conducted under the leadership of Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Gupta, Head of the Department of Community Medicine. Faculty members involved included Prof. Dr. Intakhab Alam, Prof. Dr. Ajay Agrawal, Prof. Dr. Purva, Associate Professor Dr. Vinayak H. Kashyap, Assistant Professor Dr. Aditya Prakash Singh, PG Residents Dr. Danish and Dr. Charandeep, and Tutor Dr. Waqar.
In alignment with the World Malaria Day 2026 theme, “Driven to End Malaria: Now We Can. Now We Must.”, the programs reinforced the need for collective action toward malaria elimination.
The event concluded with a strong commitment that awareness, cleanliness, and timely treatment are the foundation of a malaria-free society.
