VAU Organized Seminar on “Medical Education and Ethical Values and Spirituality Among Students”

Varun Arjun University, Banthra-Shahjahanpur, organized a grand seminar on October 28, 2025, at the main auditorium of Varun Arjun Medical College and Rohilkhand Hospital on the topic “Medical Education and Ethical Values and Spirituality among Students.”
The event was inaugurated by the university’s Pro-Chancellor Dr. Ashok Kumar Agarwal and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Kiran Agarwal, who welcomed the chief guest, Acharya Shri Anand Purusharthi (Vyakarana Acharya), with a shawl and bouquet. The purpose of the seminar was to highlight the importance of integrating ethics and spirituality into medical education. The program was conducted by Principal Dr. (Col.) Ravindra Nath Shukla, who in his welcome address stated that a doctor’s responsibility is not limited to treating diseases but also includes strengthening the patient’s mental and emotional well-being.
The chief guest, Acharya Shri Anand Purusharthi, delivered an inspiring and insightful speech in which he presented the principles of the Vedas in a simple and practical manner. He emphasized the significance of moral values, parental duties, and maintaining spiritual balance in life. He said that the aim of modern education should not be confined to obtaining degrees but should nurture wisdom, empathy, and compassion. Addressing future doctors, he stated that medicine is not merely a profession but a form of spiritual service in which one must heal both the body and the soul of the patient. During the program, Acharya Purusharthi felicitated the winners of the quiz competition held on the topic “National Education Policy 2020” under the event of NEP SAARTHI of Varun Arjun University and inaugurated the “VAMC Sahitya Darpan – 2nd edition” annual magazine of Varun Arjun Medical College. Expressing his thoughts, Dr. Ashok Kumar Agarwal said that the purpose of medical education is not only to produce doctors but also to create compassionate and ethical citizens. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Kiran Agarwal described the seminar as an exemplary blend of science and spirituality.
In the closing session, senior faculty member Dr. Aditi Srivastava expressed gratitude to the chief guest and all dignitaries, remarking that Acharya Purusharthi’s ideas filled the students with positivity, confidence, and a spiritual outlook. Prominent faculty members present included Dr. Ved Prakash, Dr. Santhanam Krishnan, Dr. Pandit Shyama Rao Pawar, Dr. Deepak Oberoi, Dr. Alok Agarwal, Dr. N. M. Mathur, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Roy, Dr. Hanmant Ganpati Bobde, Dr. Prasad Margu, Dr. Poornima S. Bhatt, and Dr. Priya Mishra. Administrative officer Mr. Lalit Chauhan and Digital Media Cell representative Mr. Sachin Chauhan also played important roles in the success of the event. The event concluded with the Sanskrit shloks, leaving the entire auditorium imbued with motivation, peace, and inspiration. Students described the seminar as a memorable and life-enriching experience that strengthened their values of morality, service, and self-growth.
